Leo J Spaccavento M.D. is a senior partner at Advanced Heart Care Associates, which has two locations in Las Vegas, Nevada. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, Interventional Cardiology and Nuclear Medicine. He received his medical degree from Drexel University and completed his internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins University. He attended Stanford University, where here completed his cardiovascular medicine fellowship. After fellowship, Dr. Spaccavento served in the United States Air Force, where he attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He was named director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory and fellowship program at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. 

Dr. Spaccavento has had multiple academic appointments and has collaborated in multiple clinical studies in congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, and cardiac imaging. He had multiple publications in peer review cardiology journals. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with complex coronary artery disease, heart failure, and arrhythmia. After leaving the service, he brought directional and rotational atherectomy to Las Vegas and performed the first stent procedure.

Dr. Spaccavento, at Advanced Heart Care Associates, has incorporated the latest in diagnostic imaging. Board-certified in Nuclear Cardiology, he has successfully incorporated the latest techniques in heart imaging using PET and SPECT techniques to make diagnosing complex heart disease accurately and expeditiously so treatment can begin as soon as possible for patients with heart failure, heart attacks, stroke, and arrhythmia. 

He spends all his time in the hospital performing procedures and in the office practicing cardiology. He truly enjoys caring for his patients with compassion and respect, treating them as if they are part of his family. He enjoys treating and, equally important, preventing heart disease through diet and exercise. He looks forward to being your doctor for many years.
